About Emily
Hello, my name is Emily, I use she/her pronouns. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Bellingham, WA. I obtained my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Central Washington University. I have worked in various mental health provider settings over the past 10+ years. My experiences include providing counseling, case management, and supervision in outpatient and intensive outpatient community mental health settings, along with individual, couples, and group counseling in a group private practice. I have also provided supervision to counselors in private practice.
I am committed to helping adults grow an understanding of their emotions, behaviors, and relationships. My work focuses on providing space to assist my clients feel safe, heard, and understood. I teach my clients skills to understand and regulate emotions, build healthy relationship boundaries, and address trauma at the root of current distress.
I strive to provide counseling with cultural humility. I aim to offer care that is gender affirming, trauma informed, anti-racist, anti-diet, and sex positive. I engage in ongoing work to recognize my own privilege and invite clients to engage in conversation about privilege and systems of oppression.

My specific passions include teaching emotion regulation skills through the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to alleviate current distress tied to past trauma.

I am excited to work with you!
