Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy
EMDR is an evidence based practice designed to treat PTSD and other distressing life events.
What is EMDR?
EMDR is a multi-phase treatment approach designed to treat PTSD. It can also help reduce symptoms associated with grief, depression, anxiety, and phobias. EMDR utilizes bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping) while focusing on past memories, current stressors, and future concerns.
EMDR can reduce disturbing body sensations, intrusive images, and negative self beliefs associated with traumatic memories.
EMDR should not be utilized if you have a history of experiencing seizures.
